ASSISTED STRETCHING

“I need to stretch more often.” You’ve said it a thousand times, but it always seems to get pushed off. Make it a priority with some professional guidance. It is one of the best ways to prevent injury.

Assisted Stretching Overview

Instead of trying to find the time to do a few stretches on an area that is tight or painful, let’s address the discomfort and/or restrictions that are the root cause of the problem by stretching the entire body through the application of scientific, physiological principles with PNF stretching (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), a contract and relax technique for the lower extremities, passive stretching for the upper extremities, and neural flossing, a specialized way of easing neural tension in different parts of the body. Improve the quality of movement, off-load your joints, and move more freely with less restriction.

What are the benefits of Assisted Stretching?

Let’s face it. We all know that we should be stretching more often. It’s critically important to prevent injuries and improve our ability to move with biomechanically correct movement patterns. But for some reason, it is often an afterthought. Learn some basic and advanced stretches that will keep you moving athletically for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to do these stretches on my own?

Yes! While assisted stretching will provide a more effective stretch and greater flexibility at the outset, it is the goal for you to be able to perform a thorough stretch routine independently. All techniques addressed during sessions will be modified for self stretch and written down so that you can work on them at home or at the gym.

Can I do more than just stretch during a session?

Flexibility is only part of a complete treatment plan. Bending Space treatments are tailored to the individual and may consist of several treatment modalities in the same session.

How long does it take to get more flexible?

If you are consistent with your stretching routine, you can expect some increased flexibility and improved movement patterns after 2-4 weeks.
